Unexpectation

No studio, no flash yet the shot above has got a great studio style, just like a commercial beauty advertisement. How I did that?

Inside a normal room without any special equipment, only with the fluorescent light on ceiling, and my D90 + 50mm f/1.8, followed by some post-processing, here it comes the very cool shot.

Myself

As a photographer, I rarely get the chance to be in the frame. The camera is on my hand most of the time and I capture moments for people. Sometimes when I want to find my own photos to show my friends, I could not even find one. Very pathetic! Haha...These are my most recent photos taken on last Sunday, credits to my "assistant"!=)

For Canon Lover II

Well this is another two photos of Canon AV-1, with a different style from previos post. The lighting was deliberately set up so that only a little amount of light fell on certain part of the camera, direct the focus of human eyes onto the brand of Canon. The metal part just reflected the light perfectly. Then, I post processed them into monochrome, using the great effect of black to create a sense of mystery. Overall, I like the first one a lot as it gives me a feel of commercial shooting. I even made it as my desktop background and it does match well with my laptop. =)

The end of the series, more to update soon...Do stay tuned!=p

For Canon Lover

Floating Canon AV-1

Just a little tilting of your camera will bring out a totally different perspective=)

Hi guys, I had found back my creativity in photography. First of all, I would like to thank my daddy for looking back his Canon AV-1 as a gift for me. He was once Canonian but I am Nikonian. For me, either bright sider or dark sider doesn't matter at all because there is no boundery in the world of photography. Secondly, thanks to my laptop which attacked by virus, causing me losing direction in a world of without internet nor entertainment, but giving me plenty of time at the same time. I was damn boring, not knowing what else to do, thus I set up a mini studio at my house, grabbed my dad's old camera and shot. The outcomes were perfectly awesome, I am very satisfied with this series of photos. I hope you guys will like it too. Have a nice day!

Good night everyone=)

*There will be another update tomorrow. Stay tune ya.

My Angel

On 2009 X'mas eve, we had our dinner in a Korean restaurant at Damansara. It was very fun and the food was just nice to me. The shot above was taken when I found the lamp in the restaurant was creating a ring of Angel on the glass. As usual, Adelyn became my model and here she is for the character of Angel. =p

Award Winning Shot

At the last quarter of 2009, I participated in a photography competition, I-snap held by MMK, University of Malaya. The theme was 'Love & Caring'. Recently the results were revealed. My shot was selected as the Top 15 and it eventually got a consolation prize. Although I think mine deserved for the Top 3 if compared to others but on top of that, I understand that photography is very subjective, some might like it while some might not. So, I took this as a compliment as well as a stepping stone for me to push my photography further...I will do better next year!

New Year of 2010

Happy New Year 2010

Love at KLCC welcoming the brand new 2010

Adelyn and I had a little fun while waiting for the clock to strike 12am...Picking up the KLCC isn't that difficult, right? lolz

Unfortunately, we went to a wrong spot for KLCC fireworks shooting. All were disappointed =(

Have you ever come across this with fireworks between the building? What a pathetic scene...swt

2 cents make the difference???

Guys, just a little experience to share with you regarding the lesson I have learned recently. Look at the photos above and compare...

Do you guys notice that the photos on the left are washed out, the subjects' faces are seriously over exposed?

Why all the faces in the photos look like zombie? This was what my aunty asked me. I was actually shooting for her son's kindergarden graduation back in early December. That was really bothering me and initially I thought that was my own problem. I told her to hand me over the photo album to have a look. When it got onto my hands, I was stunted. What the heck is going on? Almost out of 100 pieces of the photos are over exposed, only a few are normal, same as what I see in my laptop.

I knew well that it was no longer my own problem, instead something was wrong with those photos and I have to do something. Eventually I sent two photos to wash at another photo studio and waited for the outcome. Yes, I have proved that I am correct, the two photos I washed were just nice at correct exposure. It might due to the printing technique, the printing machine as well as the quality of the photo paper.

I admit I am art sensitive and I couldn't accept this. I am really mad at the photo studio who charged 38cents for those low quality, over exposed photos! They even spoiled our reputation as photographers. I think they should be more responsible and professional to their clients.

Some advices for you guys:
  • DO NOT SAVE your petrol and go printing photos at a small and unknown photo studio.
  • Print your photos at a WELL KNOWN REPUTATION photo studio as they provides better quality and more advance printing machine.
  • Paying an extra TWO cents is worth for a better capture moment
  • Do HIRE me as your photographer at a reasonable price =D

The Wedding

I am not going to write an essay with more than 500words anymore in this post, as I know you guys are lazy to read when visiting someone's blog, so do I. =D Therefore, just let the photos speak. To be short and simple, this was a wedding dinner of my best bro Javen's sis, on Christmas 2009.

Congratulation to the new couple=)
